I graduated from Ponoka High School (1966) just before it became a composite high school. I earned a B.Ed. (Education) after attending the Universities of Calgary and Saskatchewan (Saskatoon). After attending the Universities of Alberta (Edmonton) and Oregon (Eugene, Oregon) I earned a M.Ed. (Oregon). I completed all the course work for a PhD at Gonzaga University (Spokane, Washington), but ran out of time and money before finishing my dissertation. Obviously, I enjoy learning but I also enjoy jobs and an income. I probably like learning because I am good at it. Out of high school, I earned several scholarships including the first Molson's Hockey Scholarship. In University, I received two undergraduate awards, and several graduate assistantships. I was the first in my family to graduate with "Distinction" but not the last. Both Jodi and Cory earned bachelor degrees with "Great Distinction." Both have jobs where further education is expected. I've also been fortunate to receive several awards as an adult. In my previous career, I was thrilled to be recognized as one of the most effective Alberta School Superintendents. My reward here was to be included in a 1990 study of effective organizational practices. As a member of the Red Deer Central Lions, I was surprised with recognition as "Lion of the Year" for 2000-2001 and then again in 2003-2004. Recognition is especially rewarding when it is not anticipated. I served as Lion President 2002-2003. My favorite Lions activity isn’t meetings though, it is working Bingos. I’m not a player but the players always enjoy themselves and the workers share stories and plans. Career Paths: Dale Boddy Realtor
